Welcome! I’m Kelsey Deutsch, a certified dog trainer with over 7 years of experience in the industry. Dog Training in Connecticut

Due to my many years of working with dogs, I have plenty of experience with various breeds and personalities. Dog training conducted by me helps foster a stronger, lifelong connection between owner and dog through clear and consistent communication. My dog training methods use primarily positive reinforcement such as treats, praise, and toys, but my methods also fall under the balanced training category as I do use e-collars to help with recall, behavior modification, and rehabilitation in certain cases.

I’m sure the mention of an e-collar made you stop in your tracks, and I understand why. E-collars have been a sore talking point for many decades, but I want to reassure you that modern-day collars are far better than you may have been led to believe. New-age e-collars do not produce static shock but instead blunt stimulation. This does not hurt your dog in any way but instead gets their attention.

Our ‘board and train’ programs utilize positive reinforcement and then layer with e-collar conditioning to improve behavior in all environments in and out of the home. The main purpose of having the e-collar is utilizing this tool in case you need it to maintain accountability and off-leash freedom. We will never simply slap on this tool to teach your dog behaviors. If you are uncomfortable with utilizing this tool, we provide a large variety of dog training services that set the foundation for success and build up your relationship through positive techniques instead.

      Giving Back To Our Fosters

Because I love all dogs of various ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments, we often host a foster dog or two at our home throughout various times of the year. We work exclusively with three amazing rescue agencies: New England Puppy Rescue, Outrider Dogs and Stone’s Throw Dog Rescue.

Fostering a dog gives them time to decompress in a loving and safe home environment so we can see their true personalities and allow them to achieve their full potential. This allows us to find them the best possible fit for a home. It also often results in another dog being able to be saved. Each year, we take in about 12-20 fosters and share our home with them until they are adopted. We are proud to be a part of these dogs’ lives and help them on their journey to a forever family.

We have currently fostered 3 dogs in 2024.
